The Workshop Dubai announces a Stage Acting program for Arab youth in the Emirates for a period of three months program, happening 3 days per week, with a 3 hour per session course ending with a play presented in a Dubai theater. The course is supervised by Syrian director Walid Al-Kowatli.
Timings: Saturday 4pm -7pm, Monday 6:30pm - 9:30pm, Thursday 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The most important life skill you learn in theatre is communication. Many theatre performers develop the ability to speak clearly, lucidly, and thoughtfully. When you act on stage you are comfortable speaking to large groups of people. Many companies look for this in an individual when hiring.
About Director Walid Kowatli:
Head of the Acting Department at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus 1991-1992
Teacher of acting, principles of directing, and theater laboratory between 1979-1992
At the same institute and at different stages, he worked on Syrian television from 1976 until 1999. He directed many skits and drama series for children and worked in the television drama department. Chairman of the jury for The Third Theatrical Days of the college of applied sciences in the Sultanate of Oman from 8 to 11 March 2012. A group of films with displaced Syrians, children, and injured people in Antakya, Türkiye 2012. Supervising a drawing workshop for Syrian children in the diaspora and holding an exhibition of their works in the Cartoon Art Gallery in Dubai in 1914.
Participation in the Mixed Media Art Exhibition held in the Light Hall “Dok Tak” in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, sponsored by Dr. Abdullah Al Shaibani, CEO of the Document of Loyalty and Belonging, and with the participation of the Rashid Center for the Disabled, between 12/23/2015 and 1/2/2016.

Participation in the Mixed Media Art exhibition held at the gallery of the Mixed Media artist Fatima Lootah in Dubai on 11/6/2020 for four days, with the signing of the collection of Seven Creations by the poet Hassan Ezzat.
