The Japanese technique of water marbling or “floating ink” first originated in China, and was then adopted and developed further in Japan. The suminagashi marbling technique is an ancient meditative process that emphasizes mindfulness, slowing down, and the value of imperfection. It is a beautiful art that creates unique patterns, as the paint swashes and swirls on the bath. Delivering workshops covering the ancient art of Suminagashi, traditional marbling techniques. I will also share the secrets to achieve strong, hi-contrast prints by combining traditional techniques with modern materials.

Swena is an autodidact artist based in Dubai. She learned the true nature of art while working as a freelance interior designer in India. Over the years, she has developed her own unique style by mixing different kinds of textures and techniques. Swena also conducts various workshops to help people create something unique and interesting by teaching different techniques and mediums such as resin art, alcohol ink, coffee painting, and more.
